Our Story

The MCEP, spearheaded by Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu, was established as a community-centered educational support initiative aimed at bridging educational gaps, empowering students, and enhancing learning environments. Over the years, it has evolved into MCEP, expanding its scope to policy research, institutional collaborations, and large-scale educational reforms.

Key Initiatives & Achievements

• Scholarship & Educational Support: Over 368 students sponsored through Sosu’s Scholarship Fund, enabling tertiary education completions and expanding opportunities for families.

• Infrastructure Development: Addressing critical school facility needs, including the construction of a bridge at Baba Yara Primary School, boundary walls at UBH Basic School Madina, and pavements at Danfa Cluster of Schools to improve security and accessibility.

• Teacher Capacity Building: Organized library management training workshops and professional development programs for educators, in partnership with leading educational consultancies.

• Education Resource Enhancement: Donation of 23,500 textbooks valued at GH¢1.4 million, benefiting over 40,000 pupils and equipping schools with mobile libraries to promote literacy.

• Policy Advocacy & Institutional Collaborations: Strengthening partnerships with government agencies, universities, and global institutions to align educational interventions with national policies and international best practices.

• STEM & TVET Promotion: Supporting the expansion of Science Resource Centres and advocating for policy reforms to enhance technical and vocational education.

• Annual School Engagements: Facilitating direct interactions between policymakers, educators, and students through school visits by Hon. Sosu to address institutional needs and student concerns.

• Sosu’s Best Teachers Award: Recognizing outstanding educators with incentives, including a brand-new car, to motivate excellence in teaching.

• Human Rights & Leadership Initiatives: Promoting academic excellence in law and governance through initiatives like the MP Awards for Human Rights Law students at UPSA.

Through these initiatives, MCEP aligns with Ghana’s national education agenda, particularly policies focused on early childhood education, teacher training, textbook provision, STEM/TVET expansion, and higher education access. By scaling these programs and fostering strategic partnerships, MCEP is committed to advancing education, equity, and sustainable national development.
